A replacement heifer is the longest-dated investment on the farm and the easiest one to get quietly wrong. Grow her too slowly and first calving slips, carrying months of feed cost with no return. Grow her too fat and she calves badly and milks worse.

Through to the transition period
As first calving approaches, the heifer moves onto the transition programme. Use TransBovi Mx for cattle or TransBuff Mx for buffalo through the close-up period — heifers benefit from the same anionic preparation as mature cows.
